XF 1.5 Avatar Colour

Not sure if this is the best place to ask.

I'm trying to change the colour of the stock Xenforo Avatar images, I'm able to change the colour however when I do the finished result looks blurry... I'm using Pixelmator.

Can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong, idea's anyone?
