XF 1.4 Autoloading .gifs

Is there a new option that makes .gif avatars not load in threads? I have an animated avatar that works fine in the membercard, but doesn't animate in threads.

Images will only retain their animation after being resized if you use ImageMagick as an image processor (Admin CP > Options > Attachment Options )

With the default PHP GD processor, after a GIF is resized only the first frame of the GIF is saved. It''s often true that the L size avatar that appears on the member card and profile page doesn't need to be resized hence why it remains animated.
