I think auto-watching the created RM discussion thread is a good idea. Right now, I need to go and manually watch the thread.
I would certainly not remember to click on "Discuss" and check if there are new answers, and any comments on the threads would go unanswered. Most likely the default should be watching the thread and the user might unwatch it later if they want.
