Auto-Promote to groups

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if there is a way (via addon perhaps?) to have users with specific emails automatically promoted to secondary user groups?

i.e. bob@customerone.com joins and is autmatically added to the "Customer One" secondary group?

Already built in.

There's an option to apply the promotion while the user's e-mail address contains whatever text you define.

You would just tick the box and type "customerone.com" and anyone registering with that e-mail address will be put into the Customer One group.

Is there a cache delay or lag on this? Doesn't appear to be working.

**EDIT** Perhaps I misunderstood. This will not retroactively promote users will it? This is only good on new registrations yes?

There is a delay, yes. The User Group Promotions process is a cron job that runs once every one hour.

You can force it to run immediately by going to:

Admin CP > Tools > Cron Entries

Under the Controls menu of the "User Group Promotions" item, select "Run".

This should run it immediately for you.

Therefore it will retroactively promote users (and indeed proactively remove them from it if they change their e-mail address).
