August Update discussion thread.

I'd like to add my personal thanks to Paul (Brogan) for his efforts. He has been an invaluable member of the XenForo team, and I will be forever grateful for everything he has done for and with us.

As some of you may have noticed, we have now appointed Jake and Slavik to moderator positions here at XenForo.com. Please join me in welcoming them to the team, and let us resolve to make their time here both rewarding and enjoyable by keeping the tone of discussions civil and pleasant. There is no place for rude or abusive posting on this site.

Development of XenForo is ongoing. It never stopped. Thank you all for your support.

What forced you fellas to lie to us customers in first place about Development ?
 
Would someone be willing to identify the cumulative number of hours that have been expended altering/amending/improving/patching/etc the codebase since the last announcement on 19 June 2012. Personally I'd sleep better having some proof that things are being worked on even if there is no scheduled time frame for a release.

I hope the personal issues, whatever they may be, are resolved swiftly and as painlessly as possible for whomever they affect.
 
I must add...

Me personally, I could have accepted a statement long ago saying development was onhold until such time as the court case is final.
Heck, I suspected the court said KAM couldn't do anymore coding for XF...


But that's not what was trumpeted over and over these past six or so months.
I can only assume it was an effort to keep money coming in via new licenses and annual support fees.

So... Well, you reap what you sow... and the developers are moving out and the customers grow weary.




I'm still waiting on the answer - if there is or has been a settlement on the XF legal case...

Accusations are not questions. At the time of Kiers post that may very well have been accurate information.

Since that post there have been 2 updates about 1.2.

Yes and your point has been noted. No need to re-ask it again. As, when and if an answer is provided we will relay it on...
 
What I really don't understand is why KAM don't answer the really important questions. Even this update doesn't say really much.

I guess all that is required is some honesty, just tell people what's going on.

Your welcome, just please consider these questions are being collected by myself and Jake on behalf of the community to try and give you guys answers to your questions. As was pointed out in the announcement however, there are multiple factors in play... so my appologies if the answers don't come immediately. But we are trying.
 
The announcement shows responsibility from the staff. However it didn't help clearfy many of my questions in top:
  1. Is the personal problem between Kier and Mike?
 
It must have been a bit of a challenge to type so much yet say so little.. But with that said i do sincerely appreciate that Ashley took the time to put something out there.. I also appreciate that the mods now seem to be more willing to work with those of us who have "Concerns"

The forum software is awesome stuff and i can appreciate the fact that this lawsuit is working as designed by IB.. I have little doubt tensions are high among KMA, and im sure those tension have taken a heavy toll on longtime friendships and im pretty sure those strained relations involve more then just the owners.. (ie: Brogan and others)

I wish all the best for KMA and i hope they come out of all this stronger then ever.. With all that said i really have no important questions that havent already been asked.. I do hope we get some answers sooner then later.. But really i just want to thank Ashley for taking the time to express that he does understand our "Concerns" That alone goes a long way in my book because i really felt like they didnt give a rats ass and that was Alarming to me regarding the future.. I still dont know any more today then i did yesterday but i can at least say for some reason i cant really explain i do feel a bit better going forward...

Thanks again Ashley.. A little really can go a long way in cases like this.

I've noted your question down, but questions like these are highly personal... and probably somewhat inappropriate. I would prefer if you could keep them more related to the product than focusing on KAMS personal lives.
 
I'm happy that Xenforo actually have a stable version with the ongoing cases with VB, at least we can show IB that Xenforo is supported by everyone in the community and the team and still develop a great product while they prepare for court.

Is Mike still employed by XF as a developer?
Is he currently actively developing XF?

(it's ridiculous that those questions need asking at all :-( )

Isn't that interesting ! They login everyday check forums/threads but they really don't have time to answer anything /anyone instead of that Mods are trying to get answer for customers.
