XF 2.3 Attachment Photo's not rotating

We have some users who when posting, just put the image in as an attachment rather than as an image in the post. That's fine except the photo not rotating properly has come back with the lastest version of Xf.

An image taken in portrait mode on an Android phone, when posted as an image in a post uploads and displays in portrait mode. However, if you just attach that image to the post, it displays sideways.

There was a plugin for Version 1 that since has been discontinued. There was a patch issued for earlier 2.x versions however it doesn't work with the latest version of Xenforo.

Any ideas on how to correct this

Andy, I did try that patch and it didn't work. Maybe I did something wrong?

1. Downloaded file, unzipped and saved to my desktop
2. using Filezilla, renamed existing file on server to ***bak, then uploaded the patch file to the server location
3. rebuilt all the cache's

Photo still is sideways and now I am getting a file error report on the health check due to a foreign file in the system.

I restored it back to the way it was this morning, before seeing your note

The issue has been resolved by reloading the patch and then running the master update which is available in the Install folder. I didn't know how to access the master update till AndyB pointed me to the path thru 'install'

I hesitated to do this as when the file goes in, then you start getting warning messages from Xenforo that your install is corrupt. Don't understand why the patch process isn't more refined.
