XF 2.2 Assign an Entire Forum Category to Each Resource?

I was wondering if it's possible to assign an entire forum category to each resource instead of just a single thread. This way, I could have more organized discussions and better management of topics related to each resource.

Does anyone know if this is possible? Thanks!

It is not possible, it will require a custom development.

I don't know how many resources you plan to have on your forum but depending on the number it risks creating a lot of nodes and a lot of threads in these nodes that talk about exactly the same thing... What is your idea behind this? You risk seeing a multitude of threads with 1, 2 or 3 replies or even 0, not really SEO friendly in my opinion. If you want to organize support for a resource, a single thread may be sufficient if it is well moderated and if you post clear instructions.

For each resource, I'd like users to suggest ideas and report bugs in separate threads. This keeps things cleaner and makes it easier for users to find out if a certain issue has been resolved by checking the relevant thread directly, rather than scrolling through dozens of mixed messages in a single thread

Bug fixes should appear in resource updates normally, this is probably the best way to manage them for the resource author and view them for users. Otherwise, you can also manually create nodes for each resource (hide them or not on forum list) and create a custom field in the resources where you can indicate the link to the node concerned.
