Add-on Anyone else think it's a disservice to have all the XTR modifications deleted?

As to whether an add-on should be updated... it depends. If an add-on works, has no outstanding bugs (except for very minor), there's really not a need to update it.
Oh, I dunno about that. A fresh new version number makes for an "all new" add-on, in the same way as a redesigned box makes for an "all new" soap powder! It doesn't have to do anything different other than have a new version number. :p

Dear admins, There are a few plugin makers that I trust in terms of addons and codes and themes.DragonByte Tech, Ozzmods (snogssite), xentr, devsell, andy b etc. I also use the unupdated versions of xentr addons and they still work well.

To simply log in to a site?
yes.

45 days is comically low.
and one email warning ?

If they really can't then clearly deleting the resource is the right thing to do as they obviously can't provide support.

most addons are quite stable.

put some warning on the addon and let people make up their own minds.

there also should be "staged deletion"

*warning - 3 months.
*2nd warning - 6 months.
3rd warning - 9 months.
?Deletion - 1 year.

45 days ! Hard to believe really.

What if paying customers have been waiting a full 45 days for support for something that they have paid for? 45 days is an excruciatingly long time in that context.

It’s not too much to ask. Log in maybe once a week, keep an eye on support and other requests. You’re using our platform to make a profit, the least you can do is check in once in a while to make sure your customers aren’t all queuing up for help.

I am using revolution pro, which is the xentr.net theme. I switched to xenforo2.2.16 pach 2. And instantly I found the theme version ready. I downloaded the latest. As for the old plugins, they are all free and still work very well without any warnings.

That's besides the point. It's great that particular product is working great for you. But if it wasn't, and you weren't getting support, or you bought it after the author had already been absent for months, you would understandably be quite vexed.

xentr.net plugin producers @Osman and @XDinc are close enough friends that we talk on the phone and I like them both very much. Also, I have great confidence in their codes. They have been very busy in their working lives for a while. But they never abandoned their site and plugins.

That’s not the case with this addon maker.

It’s a great idea though … 45 days of people being left in the lurch … deletion.

I'm going to make a joke right now; I always fight with English people in real life. Typical British logic seems very contrary to me. In fact, as a Turk, I also give credit to my ancestors. 😁 🇹🇷🇹🇷

I think it is the support that is crucial. There is a difference between not logging in for 45 days and not being available for support for 45 days. If there are no questions waiting for solutions then maybe purely not logging in is less important.

As above, all devs should be watching their addon discussions with email alerts if they are not online all the time. And if there are no new posts for 45 days there is no reason to log in.

To be honest guys, while the feedback has been interesting, we're not planning to make any changes here.

We're literally asking for people to do the bare minimum: be present in the place where their customers ask for support. Imagine if we only checked our ticket system once every time we felt like it... It's not a big ask and if you can't commit to that, frankly you shouldn't be charging people for your work.

45 days

Hard rules like this are easy to create and fail often, just like this case.

Sticking to failing rules doesn’t make them more valid.

How is it failing? It has had the desired effect. They seem unable to support their customers here as they are not willing to have a presence here, as such, their resources have been removed so no more customers are able to purchase and find themselves in a situation whereby their add-ons no longer work or are no longer supported.

This is exactly what we want and 45 days is perfectly sufficient.

If they wish their add-ons to be made available again, all they have to do is ask, and maintain a reasonable presence here.

The screenshot I took proves that the xentr.net addon and theme development site is working.

and they do not have to develop plugins for xenforo Beta versions.

Please read carefully what is said in this discussion. We do not inquire whether XTR add-ons are up to date or not. He is asked to be present at least once every 45 days. He doesn't do it so the rules apply. Whether they are your close friends or not doesn't change anything. Stop your useless lobbying, you are fighting the wrong fight.

I love them very much and I don't defend them because they are my friends. xentr.net, devsell.io snogssite.com, dragonbyte-tech.com, xf2addons.com these sites add strength to xenforo and do their job well. They are solid addon developers. It would be very bad if xenforo loses these. My fight is for xenforo.

And I already said I would. Thank you everyone for listening to me. My last word on this subject.

My fight is for xenforo
I think XDinc has more to lose than XenForo, the visibility of its add-ons in the resource manager here is incomparable to any other showcase. But anyway, it was a conscious choice that he made so he probably has good reasons. Good evening to you @Baby Community 🌙
