Add-on Anti virus and malware scanning of uploaded files / images

A good idea for a developer looking to sell an add-on on the Resource Manager.

Functionality to perform anti virus and malware scanning of user uploaded files. Don't want our sites being used to publish and propagate virus/malware laden files.

Yes, potentially just leaving and attachment/image error. That's what I currently do.
I thought an add-on would be good to do per file scan immediately after upload, and remove the attachment/image from XF cleanly.

When hosting attachments in Digital Ocean Spaces and similar this is not possible. There is no operating system to install antivirus on.

So needs to be core add-on? Instead of non-local storage add-ons each doing it differently?

It seems to me that it needs to be a XF addon. Alternatively it would have to download all the files, scan and then somehow delete from the spaces. Having it in XF seems more logical to me.
