XF 1.5 An unexpected error occurred. Please try again later

I haven't updated one of my other servers xenforo version and got an sql injection which corrupted the DB.
I restored my backup, but I keep receiving this response.
There is no information on the site page, and there seems to be no sql error in the logs.

What could be the problem?

@Dretax that type of error is usually indicative of the incorrect values for your database information being in the config file.

You'll need to go to the file config.php and make sure the database details such as database username, database password and all is correct and then it should fix the issue. My guess is when you restored the backup the details must have somehow changed.

The config.php file for Xenforo 1.5 is located under the library folder. It took me a second since I'm on XF 2 and haven't used 1.5 in a while.

I tried verifying it by setting the same password and user again, but doesn't seem to be working.
I also ensured the user has full permissions.

Once your sure the details are correct try seeing if you can at least log into the admin panel. I guess there could be another reason why you received that error but usually when I've received the error it was due to a mistake in the config.php file. I don't know how to troubleshoot further. Hopefully someone else will respond like @Brogan

Considering this is high priority and your facing issue with your site being online your quickest option will be to make a ticket for it. You'll be served much quicker if you produce a ticket in the customer area.
