Hey,

I moved my Forum from a webspace to a vserver. Database and database accs are the same. Other CMSs working fine.

What could be the issue ?

Same here, 800mb database imported from command line only takes a couple of minutes at most.

When it happens, view the page source - there will be a more specific error message there. I suspect it'll be something like MySQL being down or maxed out on connections.

mhh, thats weird. I can import a 80 gig database in 2 hours and these 80 mb take so long wtf..

mysqldumper was even faster than the import via ssh

No not really predictable but certainly most of it happens in the later hrs of the day.

View page source shows nothing at all - just the same as on the page, the title of this thread.

Actually no not really - it may well be that though. I might need a better hosting package! Although you could hardly call my forum busy (yet )

Yes it is - although a shared server... which leads me back to your last point... would a very busy site on the same server cause issues with accessing my database?

could be, ask your provider if he can transfer ur site to a server with less utilization, maybe this will fix the problem.

might just get my own managed virtual server... instead of sharing. I think the load on the server may well be the issue...
