    Hi all,

I changed root password and mysql password through Webmin but I got this message now when browsing to my website:

An unexpected database error occurred. Please try again later.

    Configuration:

    Apache
    Debian 9 with Webmin
    Dedicated server

    What I have done:

    Old passwords restored
    Server restarted

    Thanks for your help.

make sure same mysql password changes are reflected in xenforo config file also if you made changes to xenforo database user password.

However, I found the issue, the mysql password did not match and I restored the old one and it is apparently ok...
I don't know what's happened to be honest...

Hmmm, your OP appears to say you changed the root mysql passwd.
I hope for your own sake this is not the mysql account you are using with XF, or indeed any db application!
