Not yet, it looks like it wrote over some manual edits. I don't know what things should be now but the data is safe.

Temporary fix in place. It is all working now. Going to make changes later.

Surely today you have the incentive to manually backup everything to your PC

Yikes. I just got an email that cPanel has an update.
I hope my host doesn't decide to upgrade without backing up.

I make daily backups that are saved to a different server.
