XF 2.1 Although it's a fresh install, installation asks to upgrade

Hi,

I uploaded xenforo_2.1.8-Patch-1 for a fresh install and my host installed it for me.
After the host created a new db and imported my old database from 5 years ago (it had a different domain and host at that time),

the forum directory tells me 'The site is currently being upgraded'

If I go and try to 'upgrade' (don't know why, but I did it anyway), it tells me there's no such user: 'The requested user 'xxxx_xxxx' could not be found'

and I am stuck.

Changed the permissions for data and internal_data folders (recursively files, too) to 777

I wonder why it asks me to upgrade although it's a fresh install. Is it a MySQL issue?

If you had your host import your database, then you don't have a fresh install. Your database will have a different version recorded than your uploaded files, hence you get prompted to upgrade.

You'll need to figure out the admin user credentials from your imported database, then use those to log into the upgrade panel and complete the upgrade.

I have the database locally on my computer and can read the contents of it, can I find the admin user credentials inside?

Yep, that's the login info the host set up and that doesn't work ('The requested user 'xxxx_xxxx' could not be found')

I asked the login/user info from the previous admin of the forum, we'll see if he could pull-up the old credentials.
