I get that the Latest Activity list is meant to get users to click in and see the content. But, for content showing up in the list that isn't partial, for example, short replies to a thread, when it's clear that there isn't more to read, it would make sense to have the reaction link/button displayed so that users can react to that content right then and there without having to click into it. If it's just a snippet though, maybe it wouldn't show up because there is more to read. There could also be a "reply" link displayed, taking the user to the quick reply box.
