Follow-Up to https://xenforo.com/community/threa...-cannot-select-parent-node-for-forums.165322/
This is sad news, as being able to select a parent node was a great feature.
We often have situations where we are not doing a 1:1 conversion of a forum from one platfom to XenForo but importing/merging further forums into an existing XenForo.
Having the imported forum structure under one parent node does make the merging process a lot easier in this case as it is clear which forums are the imported ones and which are the existing ones; especially if forum titles are the same (which obviously does happen often when merging forums with the same topic).
I somewhat fail to see how keeping the option to selectd a parent node does impact the aim to bring the tree over as-is:
Those who just want to do a 1:1 coversion from another platform to XenForo could just leave this option untouched and those doing a merge could use it to make things easier for them.
As it is right now, those doing a conversion don't gain or loose anything by not having the option to select a parent node but it does make things more complicated for those doing a merge.
I'd appreciated if this decision could be reconsidered and this featrue be enabled/added for all importers.
