Add-on Alert All Users to a Thread

I would like to see a button, whereby an admin can create a thread and, by clicking that button, alert all members to it.

This would be useful when making a site announcement such as a new feature, new rules, announcement about the site, etc etc etc.

You could just use the "Alert Users" page in the Admin CP.

well, that is a bit tedious -- I'm just talking about alerting users to a thread.

It doesn't seem that tedious to me.

• Post thread, copy link
• Alert Users page
• Paste link and optionally write some text
• Send

Just offering it out there as a solution that already exists and is fairly painless.

You could possibly use the [bd] Tag Me add-on which allows you to use '@usergroup' to tag the whole group which also sends an alert.

@Chris D Is it possible to alert more than one user at a time? I would like to be send an alert to many users at the same time (approx. 100) but I it does not seem to work. Or at least I have not figured it out how to. Please help. Thanks in advance. /Per

Improvements to XenForo's user mentions system (user group mentions)

Should be able to add @ the user group you want in your posts. If it is all users, just use your default group. Of course, this is if your permissions are setup right.

EDIT: Sorry, it looks like it only sends email and not alerts. I thought it did both.

^^ that's where you can set criteria to alert as many users as you want (AdminCP > Communication > Alert Users)
