i have a layout problem with thumbnail album if this album has > 2 photos

What do you have selected as "Default image processor" under Admin > Options > Attachments?

If you go to admin.php?tools/phpinfo on your site could you let me know what PHP version you're running and what is listed under the GD section, e.g.
