XF 2.1 adjust cookie settings

Hopefully I'm posting this in the right section, but I'm looking to adjust cookie access between my site gaminglatest.com and glarcade.gaminglatest.com/ and I tried this:

$config['cookie']['domain'] = '.gaminglatest.com';

but it did not work with the connection I have between the two sites to allow seamless sign on. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

A cookie won't enable single sign on between two different sites/software.

You will need a bridge add-on.

yep, and the bridge addon makers said I need to adjust my cookie settings, which they didn't seem want to tell me how.

The syntax you posted is correct: https://xenforo.com/xf2-docs/manual/config/#cookie-settings

If it doesn't work then really you need to speak to the developer of the add-on to determine why.
