Our decision to move over from vBulletin 4.2.5 rests on the ability of a specific addon developer to customize one of his products to match our needs. In order to do that, he needs me to attempt to migrate directly from vBulletin 4.2.5 to XF2. I've already successfully migrated from vBulletin 4.2.5 to XF1 and then upgraded XF1 to XF2 on a local instance. However, that would mean the mod developer would need to customize both XF1 and XF2 versions of his addons, which would be cost/time prohibitive.
I need to confirm that it is possible to migrate our (1mil+ post, near-20 year old, 1GB .sql) vBulletin instance directly to XF2. Is it possible to add the importer tool to my test instance so that I can attempt a data migration? If not, what is the refund policy on the full license? We need to confirm this information before moving forward with a 500$+ investment into XF2 and third-party addons.
Please let me know what my options are.
