XF 1.1 Adding text-link-ads and/or parsing php code in template?

So I'm trying to add a text-link-ads php code to a template. I've been given a .php code and want to know how can I add this to ad_above_content template.

For instance - is there a similar piece of code as below to use?

<xen:require php="name_of_php_file.php" />

If no - Then how can I go about adding the php code and having it parsed in the ad_above_content template?

You can't include external PHP files with template syntax. A code event listener is required. You can use a template_hook:
