XF 1.3 Adding sidebar to new posts page?

Is it as simple as just adding the sidebar code into the template or does it require anything else?

If you want the data that is visible on the forum index such as members online, statistics, etc. then it requires an add-on.

Cheers, I wasn't sure if the variables were exposed to that page or not.

It would be a simple add-on to make them available on that page.
