Lack of interest Add On Version API

Can we get an API so developers can make their add-ons automatically verify if the version is current?
It would be nice to "list addons" and see anything out of date.

Keep an eye on my add-on installer.

It isn't an API but it contains some functionality to monitor for version updates.

This is also a benefit: It doesn't require developers to do anything. Any add-on on in the Resource Manager will be capable of monitoring for updates.
