XF 1.4 Add Link to Tab

How can I add a link to a tab so that the tab is actually selected when I click the new link. I want to add maps to the users tab and have users still selected once I click maps.

The selected tab ID is defined in the route handler for the route. Example:

Thank you very much, I was able to get both the XFR User Albums and Waindigo's Hotspots to live quite happily under the Members tab!
