Are you sure that you're logged in?

Yeah I was logged in.. I can't tell you how frustrating I find FB.. it is one of those things I really just have problems with.

So... here's the story, maybe all you FB savvy folks can help out.

I registered Xenique as a Brand/product right... as I specifically do not want it to be a personal account.

Up the top on the blue bar, on the right, I had the options "Create Profile, Settings, Log out"

So everytime I would do something I would be told I had to enter my profile before I could do that.

Reading the Profile info, it specifically forbids you adding a profile if you are not an actual person.

WTF...

So Bands, Brands, Products etc.. are restricted to basically doing nothing????

so I entered a fake profile..

Wham.. suddenly I can like pages, do anything I want on FB.

I just don't get this, why even offer to have pages for non-individuals if you won't let them do anything.

Am I being dumb here... have i missed something???

Actually, Facebook have lately changed the way they treat Facebook pages. Now, it is possible for the owner of a facebook page (may it be a brand, website etc etc.) can actually use Facebook as a "Page profile" rather than his / her own profile, i.e. you can like other pages, post around etc. This allows for better privacy, with facebook not listing every change or status update you made on your facebook page on your own personal profile where you may not want them to show. However, the Page Profile still needs to be linked with an "actual profile". I think that's what was causing you the trouble. :)

If you don't intend to create your own facebook profile, then you did the right thing by creating one anyway.

I don't intend to create a personal page no... so thanks for the info :) That was the problem I had when I used FB last time... my personal and business worlds were colliding, and I didn't like that at all.
