Hi. We are looking at using XenFono for our forum. Having been familiar with it on these sites Uk business forum and digital point that I believe uses XenFono.

I have a few questions, and I was hoping someone might be able to answer them for me. Many thanks.

If I want to set certain forums to not be accessible to certain members does this remove the forum title completed or does it stay but just shown as private, like this:

Yes these things are all very easy to remove. I have two add-ons which remove the Gender and DOB during registration:

There's no official classifieds for XF. The Digital Point marketplace is custom.

You could let them see the forum, but not see anything inside. Or you could hide the forum entirely.

Plugins are extremely simple to install - just upload files and click the install button in the control panel.

You can change any templates easily if you're even a little familiar with HTML and/or CSS.

Yes, either directly in the template or by a plugin such as Nodes As Tabs.

I suggest making a Classifieds category and let your members post regular threads. Here's an example of how I do it on my forum:

The trick is to set the permissions so the classified forums can be edited indefinitely, that way the original poster can update the thread title or their posts as needed. Also I use two add-ons for the classified forums:

Btw, I got an email notification for the first couple of replies but not all of them. I haven't changed any settings so just wondering why I didn't get an email for all replies?

If you are talking about in the forum here, you will get an email for the first reply.. but not for subsequent ones until you have visited the thread again, then upon the next reply 1 email alert.

Not that I know of.. there may be an add-on to do it, but there is not built in ability to get notifications after every new post (that could overload a LOT of forum mail servers that are large).
