A bunch of really old people crashed my server.

Somewhere around 18k 110 year old people from the looks of it ripped it right down to the ground.

    Well, here is what happened.

This is my first New Years on vB. vB thinks that 18k of my members was born on Jan 1 1901. The forum wants to put them on the birthday list and send them a nice message.

    MySQL said "Thou Shalt Not"
MySQL Error : Got a packet bigger than 'max_allowed_packet' bytes

So I get thousands upon thousands error messages and along with the

"got a packet bigger then max"

Database error in vBulletin : mysql_connect() [<a href='function.mysql-connect'>function.mysql-connect</a>]: Too many connections

Can I assume you turned off the sending of birthday emails now?

Well, I got in and turned off the emails. Still getting errors. I think it is trying to change the display and cannot.

Trying to figure out how to turn of display birthdays.

I don't understand why PHP errors use the anchor tag like that.

You can do a DB repair from cPanel, assuming you have that.

I think I need a data base guru. I have destroyed my forum.

You can always try restoring from a backup, assuming you have a recent one, if a repair doesn't work.

You have your forum turned off, with a message stating there is technical difficulties (if the forum is running that well)... and the forum is still not online for people to try to post. Right?
