2.2 Search Forums: Last X days criteria

Allowing a search forum to select threads created or last posted in between two fixed dates is of limited value - I can't think of any use case for this other than perhaps showing historical information (eg: "Threads from 2018")

It would be far more useful to be able to show threads created in the "Last X days".

So "Threads created in the last 30 days" or "Threads with the last post in the last 7 days" are far more useful criteria to add I think.

Yes this is a good idea. +1 from me

Well then you just would not set any date criteria. I believe the thinking here is, Thread Date Limit which appears in forum nodes is mainly for performance, but adding date ranges adds another layer of content you can curate and if both fields were offered, it would create a conflict. So they chose range because when unselected you see all.

Add to that It might also be determined by: Maximum number of search/find new results, in acp.

There are plenty of other fields which conflict with each other - it's simply up to the administrator to choose which fields make sense to use.

Maximum results is an option for a search forum - see screenshot in HYS thread.

What would be even more cool would be a dynamic date selection tool:

So the "Created between" and "Last post between" selectors could let you either choose a specific date - or a relative date so you could do things like "Created between 30 days ago - 7 days ago", or "Last post between (beginning) and 1 year ago" etc.
