(Win 7 - FF 21) - after posting a message the smiley drop-out remains open.
This would potentially make the layout very untidy once you get into multiple rows of larger smilies - even more so now that the editor itself fades to semi-visible (making the open smiley box stick out like a sore thumb).
If you feel this is more of a suggestion than a bug, please feel free to move it.
