[XTR] Custom Post Fields

Custom post fields allow you to define additional structured fields for users to fill in when replying a thread. Similar to custom user fields, these fields can various types of form inputs, including text boxes, radio buttons and check boxes.

Custom post field can be setup in the control panel under Forums > Custom post fields.

Each custom post field value will be displayed in one of several locations:
  1. Before message: in the body of the first post of the thread, directly above the message content.
  2. After message: in the body of the first post of the thread, directly below the message content.

Like with custom thread fields, you can use the Applicable forums and Editable by user groups options to control where the field is displayed and who can enter a value for the field.

Note: Please do not install the add-on, if you are using lower than XF 2.2.5.
This version only support to XF 2.2.5+.

This add-on is uniquely and especially helpful for those who want to capture information in a structured manner within posts of a thread, as we do. I think those who need it will appreciate how powerful it can be for certain use cases and workflows.

Helpfully, this add-on is also implemented in such a way that it feels native to XenForo - and leverages the exact same field options that exist for custom user fields and the like.

I did encounter a bug with the add-on when I first installed it, but the developer was very helpful with respect to studying my observations, investigating the problem, and ultimately releasing a patch to address.

I had issues with this on install, however XDinc contacted me back within minutes supporting and within 60 minutes with a fix for the issue i was seeing, without even having to log onto my board! Awesome work - Stars for the Add-on, support, and speed of resolution!

This is an excellent add-on if you would like to extend the awesome custom thread field functionality to each post. I am running a review website where each poster can now give his opinion through using stars and drop-down selection fields et cetera. Before this was only possible for the topic starter. Asking XDinc for support was very convenient and they went above and beyond to help me set it up.
