XenForo Emoji Performance Optimization

XenForo Emoji Performance Optimization

The main guide has been updated.

This update includes:
  • A safer and more cache-aware Cloudflare Worker example.
  • Request method and emoji path validation.
  • Explicit Cloudflare cache TTL handling.
  • Immutable browser caching for better repeat-load performance.
  • Improved 404 and 5xx cache behavior.
  • Repeated real-world TTFB measurements against the direct jsDelivr/JoyPixels route.
  • Additional clarification that this setup does not mirror or redistribute JoyPixels assets.
  • Expanded FAQ section.
The setup was re-tested with repeated curl TTFB measurements from the same client connection. In our test, the Cloudflare Worker route showed lower average TTFB and significantly better latency consistency compared to the direct jsDelivr/JoyPixels route.

Main post updated accordingly.
Added an optional note about preventing non-indexing bots (e.g. OpenAI bots) from crawling emoji asset paths to reduce unnecessary log noise. Click here ↗
