Does Prefix Gate require Xon’s Multi Prefix?
No. Prefix Gate works with XenForo’s standard single-prefix system and automatically supports Multi Prefix when it is installed.
Are gated thread titles hidden from guests?
No. The thread title remains visible, including on the interstitial page. Prefix Gate is designed to gate the thread content, not the title itself.
Does Prefix Gate affect logged-in members?
No. The interstitial is shown only to guests.
Is Prefix Gate an age-verification or access-control system?
No. Prefix Gate is a content-warning interstitial for normal thread viewing. It is not intended to provide strict access control or legal age verification.
Can I use a prefix other than NSFW?
Yes. Any existing thread prefix can be selected as the gated prefix.
Does a guest have to acknowledge every gated thread separately?
No. A successful acknowledgment applies globally to all gated threads for the configured acknowledgment period.
What happens to thread hover previews before acknowledgment?
For gated threads, unacknowledged guests will not see the first-post content in XenForo’s stock thread hover preview. Instead, they see a notice telling them to open the thread and acknowledge the content notice first.
What happens if no gated prefix is selected?
Prefix Gate does nothing, even if the add-on is enabled.
Does Prefix Gate create database tables or use external services?
No. It does not create custom database tables and does not use external APIs, telemetry, callbacks, or remote services.
