Does hiding a group banner remove the user's permissions?
No. Hidden banners only affect public display. The user keeps the same user groups, permissions, and access.
Can admins force certain groups to stay visible?
Yes. The add-on includes an option for mandatory visible user group IDs. Any group listed there will remain visible for users who belong to it.
