[MC] Thread Split

[MC] Thread Split 1.0.8

No permission to buy ($25.00)
We have released a new version focused on performance and stability.

Important change that will affect every add-on:

All of our add-ons are now using Core Library in order to maintain shared helpers and utilities across add-ons for easier maintenance and to keep add-ons cleaner. Core Library also covers our branding for all add-ons in one switch without having to turn it off in every add-on.

This update will require Core Library 1.0.2.

Changes
  • The chain badge now appears wherever threads are listed: forum views, watched threads, What's New, your threads, the New posts and New threads widgets (full style), and search results.

Fixes
  • A grace-mode split that keeps failing is retried at most three times and then reported in the error log, instead of being retried every minute.
  • A very long final post no longer prevents the continuation post from being created.
  • Part titles:
  • Titles such as "Counterpart 5" are no longer mistaken for a part number.
  • Long titles keep their part number.
  • Translated title templates (for example {title} (Teil {part_number})) now number correctly.
  • A failed manual split now shows a clear message instead of technical error details.

Performance
  • Posts that are below the split threshold no longer lock the thread or look up chain data.
  • Every new post on the site no longer runs a chain lookup. That check now runs only on locked threads.
  • Settings are read from cache instead of the database on each post.
  • Moving a whole chain no longer queues a duplicate job for every part.
  • The grace-mode cron task works in smaller batches and finishes within a normal page request.

Accessibility
  • The chain badge and the part menu have text for screen readers, and the current part is announced.
  • Deleted parts are labelled with text, not only shown with strikethrough.
  • Every admin setting input has a label, and the Thread split settings section can be opened with the keyboard.
  • The manual split button reads "Split thread" instead of "Save".
  • The chain page uses a heading and an ordered list of parts.
We have released a new maintenance update that fixes a critical issue with XenForo 2.3.13. Please update to the latest version before upgrading.
  • XenForo 2.3.13 introduces new security measures that caused a fatal error regarding our shared copyright footer.
We have released a new version with one major new feature and improvements / bug fixes.
  • New: Chain marker prefix
    • A configurable thread prefix is automatically applied to threads in a chain
    • Original-thread policy controls how the marker is applied on the first split: always apply replacing any existing prefix, apply only if the original thread has no prefix, or leave the original thread unchanged
    • Per-forum override. Each forum's Thread Split configuration gains a Chain marker prefix row, so different forums can use different markers (or none).
    • Automatic forum association. When the marker isn't yet enabled in a target forum, the addon adds it on demand, both when a chain is created and when a chained thread is moved. The marker survives moves under all three chain-move policies
    • Includes support for Multi Prefix by @Xon. The marker is added alongside existing prefixes rather than replacing them, with a Before/After placement option
    • Access control via standard XF permissions: restrict who can pick the marker manually through the prefix's user-group permissions
  • Improvement: Cross-chain SEO linking
    • Chained threads now emit <link rel="prev"> and <link rel="next"> tags across part boundaries, so a megathread reads to search engines as one continuous, ordered series
    • Each part keeps its own self-canonical tag, so all parts stay independently indexable
    • Soft-deleted or non-viewable parts are never linked
  • Bug fix: N+1 query when Cron/PendingSplits runs has been addressed.
  • Bug fix: Strip unknown tokens from continuation post template.
