Value display HTML support and clickable map links
"Value display HTML" now works fully for location fields — any HTML you enter there renders exactly as written on the front end, just like every default XenForo custom field.
You can make the address a clickable link to any map provider of your choice (Google Maps, Yandex, Bing, OpenStreetMap, and others) — the provider is entirely your choice; nothing is hardcoded.
Fixed an issue where the formatted address could include a line break that leaked into the generated link URL and text, breaking map links. Placeholder values are now always clean.
New placeholders available in "Value display HTML" for location fields:
- {value} — the address as plain text, without any HTML
- {valueUrl} — the address, URL-encoded, ready for use in a query parameter
- {displayValue} — the address as it is displayed (may contain line breaks)
- {mapsUrl} — a ready-to-use Google Maps URL for the address
- {fieldId}, {title}, {description} — the field metadata
Works correctly in all address input modes: Google Places autocomplete search, the Country / State / City selection form, and latitude/longitude (geocoordinate) values.
Example — Google Maps link:
HTML:<a href="https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query={valueUrl}" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">{value}</a>
Example — Yandex Maps link:
HTML:<a href="https://yandex.com/maps/?text={valueUrl}" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">{value}</a>
No breaking changes — fields without "Value display HTML" continue to render exactly as before.

Display templates now show your formatted values correctly
Custom display templates now render the right variable-based content — including the field's title and description. Fields no longer appear blank when an address format can't be built.
More reliable geocoding
Temporary geocoding failures (for example, a misconfigured Google Maps key) no longer get cached for a long time. They're now retried within minutes and recover automatically once the underlying issue is fixed.
Full XenForo 2.3 compatibility
The add-on has been updated to fully support XenForo 2.3. This release regenerates the add-on's integration files, updates the location form's JavaScript to match 2.3's new event handling, and includes several fixes to keep the field working reliably — all while continuing to support XenForo 2.2.
Location data stays consistent
The location field's database structure is now automatically repaired if another add-on's installation ever affects it, keeping your saved location data intact.

This update fixes several bugs and data inconsistencies, where some countries in the database missed state/city information, which would break the location field form.
The bug affects only fields configured to use country/state/city selector, and does not affect the fields using Google Autocomplete API.

Multilingual support for Google Autocomplete
Added multilingual search capability by applying the default country scope to the search query. This ensures that language-specific characters are supported in the search form, making locations with such characters properly searchable.
Improved handling of partial Google Place API responses
When the Location field sends a partial or invalid query to the Google Place API, or when the detected location is too generic, the system now returns the error: “Address is not precise enough.”

In this release, we have implemented a fix for the Filters form to prevent unexpected reloads. Previously, the form would reload when a location subfield was selected—even if the selection was incomplete. Now, the form waits until all required fields have valid values before reloading.
