Eggy RPG 1.7.6

Eggy RPG 1.7.6 is now available, bringing expanded compatibility, improvements to desktop and mobile gameplay, and updates across the RPG extension collection.

This release covers the main Eggy RPG game alongside RPG Framework, RPG Guilds, RPG Difficulty Manager and Guest Mode.

Eggy RPG 1.7.6​

• Expanded compatibility: Minimum requirements updated to XenForo 2.3.0+ and PHP 8.0.0+.
• Friendly and non-friendly URLs: Improved support across game navigation, NPC interactions, combat and AJAX gameplay actions.
• Mobile level-up interface: Updated the level-up presentation during combat for improved positioning and readability.

Desktop and mobile compatibility​

The updated RPG and extensions have been tested on installations using both friendly and non-friendly XenForo URLs, including mobile gameplay.

All existing gameplay features remain available, and the updated installers have passed XenForo file-health checks.

The latest versions are available to download from the respective products on eggy.net.

This maintenance release fixes an upgrade issue affecting existing Eggy RPG installations where the reward_claimed database column could be missing from the event participation table. This could cause a MySQL error when completing combat during an active RPG event.

The upgrade will now automatically repair the missing database field where required. No manual database changes are needed.

Eggy RPG 1.7.4 is now available following the release of XenForo 2.3.13.

This maintenance update refreshes the affected XenForo file health hash so Eggy RPG continues to validate cleanly on the latest XenForo 2.3.x release.

No gameplay, features, APIs or extension functionality have been changed.

Framework 1.7.3.03 is now available for Eggy RPG 1.7.3.

This is a lightweight maintenance update focused on resolving a small number of reported Admin CP issues without requiring changes to the main Eggy RPG base.

The update includes:

• Player Appearances can now be edited and saved correctly
• Improved handling of player appearance assignments
• World location names such as Eggy Town Square can now be renamed properly
• Generated Travel labels now follow renamed locations where appropriate
• Related legacy location wording is updated automatically
• Existing Framework Travel, Exit, mobile and constrained viewport improvements remain included

If you are currently using Framework 1.7.3.02, you can upgrade directly to 1.7.3.03 through the XenForo Admin CP.

This Framework update is intended for Eggy RPG 1.7.3.

A new update to the Eggy RPG ecosystem is now available.

RPG Framework 1.7.3.02 has been released as a free extension update for Eggy RPG 1.7.3+.

This Framework update focuses on responsive usability across desktop, laptop and mobile devices, including improved handling of constrained viewport heights and refinements to the RPG World interface.

The update also introduces a more compact desktop/laptop presentation for Travel and Nearby Enemies, helping reduce unnecessary space usage while keeping important World information easier to access.

Eggy RPG itself does not require any gameplay changes for this Framework release. The extension is designed to enhance the existing RPG experience without altering established gameplay systems.

RPG Framework is available alongside Eggy RPG as a free extension.

Eggy RPG Guilds is now available.

The first commercial extension for Eggy RPG has now been released.

Guilds adds persistent player guilds, shared progression and Stronghold development directly into Eggy RPG.

Players can create and join guilds, manage members and ranks, invite other players, contribute resources, earn Guild Marks, develop their Stronghold, unlock guild boons, use a shared Guild Bank and access Guild Chat and Officer Chat.

RPG Framework 1.7.3.01 is now available for Eggy RPG 1.7.3.

Framework is a free Eggy RPG extension used to introduce stability improvements, UX refinements and quality-of-life features based on user feedback without unnecessarily changing the core RPG experience.

What's included in this release?

• Customisable RPG page title / logo text – RPG administrators can now change the text displayed as the title/logo text within the RPG interface, allowing the game to use its own customised name or branding.
• Dedicated Exit button – an Exit button is now displayed in the upper-right of the RPG interface, giving players a clear way to leave the game and return to the surrounding XenForo site.

The customisable title is text only – it does not replace or upload a XenForo site logo.

Framework releases will continue to be used where appropriate for improvements involving stability, usability, navigation, administrator controls and other user-requested quality-of-life changes.

A new optional extension is now available for Eggy RPG 1.7.3 — Guest Mode.

Guest Mode lets unregistered visitors preview supported areas of your RPG before they create an account.

Instead of sending guests straight to a login wall, you can let them see what the RPG actually offers first.

What guests can do​

Depending on your Admin CP settings, guests can preview areas such as:

• World and map
• Shops and items
• Marketplace and auctions
• Quests and events
• Collections and rankings
• RPG chat history

What remains locked​

Anything that would change gameplay or player data remains unavailable until the visitor logs in or registers.

This includes:

• Movement and travel
• Hunting and combat
• Purchasing and selling
• Crafting
• Quest progression
• Trading and auction actions
• Chat posting
• State-changing NPC interactions

Guests also receive a dedicated Guest Adventurer preview panel instead of fake character stats, with clear options to Log In or Register to Play.

The extension is fully optional and integrates directly into:

Admin CP → Eggy RPG → Extensions → Guest Mode

Disabling or removing Guest Mode restores the normal Eggy RPG guest behaviour.

Why add it?​

The idea is simple: show visitors what your RPG offers before asking them to register.

For site owners, it turns the RPG itself into part of the registration experience rather than hiding it behind a permission wall.

Support

A new optional extension is now available for Eggy RPG 1.7.3 — RPG Difficulty Manager.

RPG Difficulty Manager adds configurable difficulty profiles to solo RPG encounters, giving site owners much more control over how easy, challenging or punishing their RPG should be.

Five difficulty profiles are included:

• Very Easy
• Easy
• Normal
• Hard
• Very Hard

Each profile can be independently customised from the Admin CP.

Difficulty can control:

• Enemy health
• Enemy damage
• XP rewards
• Gold rewards
• Class skill Mana costs
• Physical attack miss chance
• Class skill failure chance
• Mana consumed when a skill fails
• XP-loss chance on defeat
• Amount of XP lost on defeat
• Optional character level loss
• Maximum levels that can be lost from a defeat

Administrators can either allow players to choose their own difficulty or enforce one global difficulty across the RPG.

Difficulty is snapshotted when an encounter begins, so an active battle keeps the same rules until it is complete.

RPG Difficulty Manager is a separate optional extension and is not bundled with the base Eggy RPG add-on.
