Eggy Error Watch 1.0.2

Eggy Error Watch is a completely free XenForo 2.3.x administration tool designed to help administrators stay on top of new server errors without repeatedly checking XenForo’s Server Error Log manually.

Error Watch monitors XenForo’s native server error log on an hourly schedule and keeps track of which errors have already been seen. When new errors are detected and your configured notification threshold is reached, the add on can automatically send an email alert to one or more recipients.

It is designed as an early warning system rather than a replacement for XenForo’s own error logging. Your existing XenForo server error records remain untouched and can still be accessed directly from the Admin Control Panel.

Monitoring Dashboard​

Error Watch includes a dedicated Admin CP dashboard giving you a clear overview of the current monitoring state.

The dashboard displays information including:

• Monitoring status
• Total logged server errors
• Number of errors pending notification
• Current alert threshold
• Last monitoring status
• Last check time
• Last monitoring message
• Last notification time
• Configured notification recipient

This gives administrators a quick way to see whether monitoring is operating correctly and whether any new errors are waiting for attention.

Automatic Server Error Monitoring​

Error Watch automatically checks XenForo’s native server error log every hour.

Only newly logged errors are considered for notification. Errors that existed before monitoring began are used as the initial baseline and will not suddenly result in a large notification containing old problems.

The monitoring baseline can also be reset manually at any time without deleting or modifying XenForo’s actual server error records.

Configurable Email Alerts​

Choose how many newly detected errors must accumulate before an email notification is sent.

For example, setting the threshold to 1 means the next newly detected error can trigger an alert, while a higher threshold can be used if you prefer fewer notifications.

Notifications can be sent to one or more email addresses.

Optional Error Previews​

Email notifications can include previews of newly detected errors so you can get an idea of what has happened without immediately opening the Admin Control Panel.

Up to 20 newly detected errors can be included in a notification preview.

Notifications can also include direct links back to Error Watch and XenForo’s native Server Error Log for further investigation.

Manual Controls​

Administrators are not limited to the automatic hourly schedule.

The dashboard includes controls to:

• Run check now to immediately check for new server errors
• Send test email to confirm that the configured notification address is receiving Error Watch messages
• Reset baseline to mark currently logged errors as already seen

Resetting the baseline does not delete XenForo server errors or change XenForo’s native error records.

Notification Safety​

Error Watch keeps its own notification state so already processed errors are not repeatedly treated as new during normal operation.

If an email notification cannot be sent successfully, pending errors are preserved rather than simply being discarded from the monitoring state.

Multiple Recipients​

Notifications can be sent to multiple email recipients, making it suitable for communities where several administrators or technical staff need to know when server errors appear.

Native XenForo Integration​

Error Watch works directly with XenForo’s existing server error system rather than introducing a separate logging platform.

It does not delete, replace or modify XenForo’s Server Error Log.

A direct link to the native error log is available from the Error Watch interface whenever deeper investigation is required.

Eggy Tools Integration​

Eggy Error Watch is integrated into the shared Eggy Tools section of the XenForo Admin Control Panel, keeping it alongside other Eggy administration utilities rather than creating unnecessary top level navigation.
