Classifieds 1.0.5​

Listings are now part of the forum. They turn up in search, they can be shown on your forum home, they no longer pile up forever, and the listing page itself has been rebuilt.

Listings in the forum search​

• Listings are now indexed by XenForo's own search. Members find them straight from the normal search box, with a dedicated Classifieds tab and a filter by category.
• Results show the photo, price, seller, location and category.
• To index listings posted before this update, run Rebuild caches, then Rebuild search index.

Forum widget​

• New Classifieds: latest listings widget, ready to drop anywhere widgets are allowed, such as your forum home sidebar.
• Choose how many listings it shows, and optionally restrict it to a single category.
• It lists the newest listings first by default, exactly like the Latest threads widget. Tick Show featured listings first if you would rather promote featured items at the top.

Listings that expire​

• New option: listings expire automatically after a chosen number of days. Leave it at 0 to keep the current behaviour, where listings never expire.
• The seller is alerted when a listing expires and can bring it back with a single Renew button. The listing page also warns the seller during the last week.

Redesigned listing page​

• Bigger photo gallery, and a buy panel that stays in view as you scroll, carrying the title, price, key details and the action buttons.
• The description and specifications now run full width under the gallery, so long listings are much easier to read.
• Everything under the gallery has been tightened up: sharing sits in the description block, the safety notice is a single line, and the More from this seller and More in this category rows use small cards. A typical listing page is now around three times shorter.
• Sharing a listing on Discord, Facebook or X now shows a rich preview with the photo, title and description.

Mark a listing as sold yourself​

• Sellers can now close a listing with a Mark as sold button right on the listing page. Until now a listing was only marked sold when an offer was accepted, which left out every sale agreed by private message, phone or in person.
• A sold listing can also be put back on sale, which previously was not possible at all once it had been closed.

Simpler photo management​

• The listing form no longer shows a raw list of image URLs next to the upload field, which was confusing and made it easy to wipe your own photos by accident.
• Existing photos now appear as thumbnails: pick which one is the cover, and tick any you want to remove. Uploading files remains the way to add new photos.

Currency symbol overrides​

• New advanced option Currency symbol overrides. XenForo only ships a real symbol for a handful of currencies, so a Chilean price reads CLP100.000 rather than the $100.000 locals expect.
• Enter one line per currency, such as CLP=$, and that symbol is used everywhere: listings, offers, and the automatic offer messages posted in conversations.
• Thousands separators and where the symbol sits still follow each language's own settings. Thanks to @ditiex for the report.

Fixes​

• The currency code no longer appears twice next to a price. Prices showed as CLP45,000 CLP instead of CLP45,000. Thanks to @ditiex for the report.
• The same listing could appear twice under a listing, in both More from this seller and More in this category.
• Deleting a listing left its favourites, custom field values, offers and offer messages behind in the database. They are now removed with the listing, and rows orphaned by earlier versions are cleaned up during the upgrade. Seller reviews are deliberately kept, since they belong to the seller's reputation rather than to the listing.

Just upgrade the add-on from the Admin Control Panel. No manual steps required.

Classifieds 1.0.4​

Moderation and staff tools: member reports, an approval queue, posting requirements, a proper member / staff permission split, a rebuilt admin control panel, browsable sold listings and worldwide currency support.

Moderation & trust​

• Report a listing: members can now report listings. Reports land directly in XenForo's native report centre, so your staff handle them exactly like a reported post.
• Approval queue: listings can be held for approval before they go public. They appear in XenForo's native approval queue with approve / delete / spam-clean actions, and stay invisible to the public until approved.
• Posting requirements: set a minimum account age (in days) and a minimum message count before a member may post a listing. Members who don't qualify are either blocked or have their listings held for approval, whichever you prefer.

Member and staff permissions​

• Permissions are now split in two: member permissions (view, post, review, favourite, make offers) and a separate staff set that shows up alongside your other moderator permissions.
• New staff permissions: approve / unapprove listings, view listings awaiting approval, edit any listing, delete any listing, feature / unfeature listings, and delete any seller review.
• Staff tools appear directly on a listing page for members holding those permissions.

Rebuilt admin control panel​

• New Overview page: headline figures at a glance, a "Needs attention" panel (listings awaiting approval, open reports, certification requests), and the latest listings.
• Every admin page rebuilt on XenForo's own components, so the section looks and behaves like the rest of your control panel, including on mobile.
• New listing filters, using XenForo's standard filter bar: filter by status, category, seller and title, and combine them freely (for example sold items in one category). Filters survive pagination and can be removed one by one.
• The listings page also gained an inline featured switch and one-click approve for anything sitting in the queue.

Browsing sold listings​

• Members can now browse and search listings that have already been sold, which is useful for checking what things sold for in the past or tracking an item's history. It works together with the category, keyword and price filters.
• A new option lets you turn this off if you would rather only ever show items still for sale. Listings awaiting approval are never shown publicly either way.

Worldwide currencies​

• Listing prices now use XenForo's own currency formatting: 122 currencies, each with its correct symbol and decimal places: €250.50, $42,399.00, CLP45,000 (no decimals, as it should be).
• The currency picker on the listing form now offers all of them instead of a short list.

Mobile​

• Filters and categories now sit behind a Filters button instead of pushing listings down the page, so the first listing appears more than twice as early.
• Tighter hero, larger touch targets, and swipe support on the listing photo carousels.

Improvements​

• Listing photos now use XenForo's native lightbox, the same one as post attachments, with navigation, thumbnails, zoom, fullscreen, slideshow, keyboard and swipe. Clicking a thumbnail previously just opened the image in a new tab.

Fixes​

• Listings awaiting approval no longer show a "Sold" badge.

Upgrading​

Just upgrade the add-on from the Admin Control Panel. No manual steps required.

Note on the new staff permissions: they are granted automatically to the default Administrative and Moderating user groups. If your staff sit in other user groups, grant the Classifieds (staff) permissions to those groups so they can approve listings and act on reports.

Security & hardening update — updating is recommended for all sites.

- New Leboncoin-style list view, now the default on the marketplace: listings show as rich

on the right. Switch back to grid or map anytime.
- Redesigned favorite button on listings: one click fills the heart red with a subtle animation,
saves instantly without reloading the page, and shows how many members are watching.
- Worldwide "near me" geolocation via OpenStreetMap — location search now works outside France
(new admin option; France's official geocoder is still available).
- Currency picker (dropdown) on the listing form instead of free-text entry.

• Flood protection when posting listings, making offers, contacting sellers, leaving reviews and saving searches.
• Saved-search alerts now run as a batched background job for smooth performance on large forums.
• Cleaner uninstall: removes leftover alerts, uploaded images and cached data.
• Safer "featured listing" refunds, plus stricter category and price validation.
