BoardGameHub: shared shelves that pick tonight's board game for you

BoardGameHub: shared shelves that pick tonight's board game for you 2.0.0

No permission to buy (€39.00)
2.0.0. Rebuilt on native XenForo: a design that follows your style, core moderation and votes, and an Insert board game button in the editor.
  • Every page, public and admin, is rebuilt with native XenForo components: titles, breadcrumbs, sidebars, tabs, filter bars, lists and forms. BoardGameHub now follows your style in light and dark variations and works at every width down to small phones. The table planner, shelf, table sheet and pre-game briefing are all still there.
  • Insert board game button in the editor: search the database as you type and drop a [boardgame] tag at the cursor, in rich text and BB code mode alike.
  • Soft delete and undelete for games and reviews, with a reason, an optional alert to the author and the deletion log. Permanent deletion is a new separate permission.
  • Inline moderation for games and reviews: approve, unapprove, delete, undelete and feature several items at once. Pre-game notes awaiting approval arrive in XenForo's approval queue.
  • New games and reviews appear in What's new and on member profiles, and the home page, game page, rankings and library have native widget positions.
  • Structured data (schema.org Game with aggregate rating, designers, illustrators, publishers, player count, playing time, age and cover) and native sharing metadata on every game page.
  • Five rating tier colours as style properties that follow your style, and a Series entry in the navigation.
  • Photos are now attachments with native thumbnails and lightbox, resized on upload with EXIF data removed. Covers are re-encoded on upload and on download from a URL, square and uncropped shapes kept.
  • Helpful votes on reviews and votes on pre-game notes and recommended experiences use the native XenForo vote system. Reviews use the rich text editor with spam and flood checks, and a review awaiting approval no longer counts in the average.
  • Faster pages: statistics and trending lists are cached and rebuilt hourly, the profile tab loads on demand, and achievements are awarded in the background. Notifications are sent in the background, only to members who can see the content.
  • Discuss this game creates the thread through XenForo's own thread creator, duplicate detection warns again as you type a title, forms show categories and mechanics in a compact grid, and the tier list editor is twice as compact.
  • Deleting a game checked the edit permission instead of the delete permission, and rights removed by an administrator could be granted back after an update.
  • Security: the discussion alert could reveal the title of a thread in a private forum, Table results are shared by key so their numbers cannot be guessed, and unlinking a thread is limited to its linker, the thread starter and moderators.
  • Sessions, pre-game note votes, lists, Table results, BB codes and widgets check that the viewer can see the game, and the shelf, tier list, player card, Table and profile tab respect the member's profile privacy.
  • Manual thread links survive an edit of the first post, the delete reason is recorded, session dates follow the visitor's time zone, followers no longer get the same alert twice, the API keeps fields missing from a partial update, and every alert links to its content.
  • Upgrade: install the archive over any 1.x version from the Admin CP and back up first. Votes are copied and photos converted by a background job. The decorative 1.x style properties are replaced by five tier colours, and template edits made in a child style should be reverted.

This update brings BoardGameHub from 1.0.4 to 1.1.2. What each release added:

1.1.2. Covers that are never covered, form labels restored, alerts that go out on every board, and a library that opens on your collection.

1.1.1. Five settings that existed but never appeared in the Admin CP are now on screen, where the release notes said they were.

1.1.0. A rating that finally says which game it is rating: the base box, or the box with the expansions worth owning.

1.0.6. Eleven reports from one careful customer, all closed. Seven fixes and four things the add-on should always have done.

1.0.5. A colour rule you can predict, locked game names in thread titles, and expansions that fill themselves in.
