Didn't work for me. It seems if you have settings that place the first 'x' amount of posts from a member into the moderation queue, then the spam phrases feature becomes void.

One or the other works fine I suppose, I'd prefer to not have new users posts moderated unless the team can get to it quickly.

Although i have added a lot of the available spam thingies i still like the direct approach. It is easy to read and add to the forum, while the rules are clear.

This also has the added benefit of stopping those people who join your forum to post "helpful links" that happen to point to their own sites. I'd recommend you consider adding https://* to the filer as well. I only rated it good because you can also do this with user promotions. Just add new users to a group that can't post links until they hit x amount of posts then promote them to full members.

I've yet to see any spam messages using https, but that's a good suggestion.
I prefer this way to groups because you don't have to wait for the cron to update members, and blocking links via group doesn't affect anything other than posts (I think).
