Q: What does Eggy Ban Page & Appeals do?
A: It replaces XenForo's standard account suspension message with a dedicated suspension screen displaying the member's restriction details, suspension reason, dates and configurable notices. It also includes an optional appeal system allowing suspended members to request a review.

Q: Which XenForo versions are supported?
A: XenForo 2.3.0 or newer within the 2.3 series.

Q: Can I use the custom suspension screen without enabling appeals?
A: Yes. The appeal system is completely optional and can be enabled or disabled through the Admin Control Panel. The custom suspension screen continues to function independently.

Q: Can I customise the suspension messages?
A: Yes. The Admin Control Panel provides options for editing the introduction, temporary and permanent suspension notices, account evasion warnings and appeal explanation text.

Q: Do I need to create a separate forum for appeals?
A: Only if you intend to use the appeal system. You can create a dedicated appeals forum and select it through the add-on's ACP settings.

We recommend configuring the forum so that only authorised staff can access its normal forum threads.

Q: Do banned members need permission to view or post in the appeals forum?
A: Suspended members use the add-on's dedicated appeal portal rather than accessing the forum directly.

The add-on provides a separate interface for submitting appeals, reading staff responses and replying to an existing case.

Administrators should test this workflow with their chosen forum permissions before enabling appeals publicly.

Q: Can other members see someone else's appeal?
A: The dedicated appeal portal restricts suspended members to their own cases.

However, the underlying appeals are ordinary XenForo forum threads. Administrators are responsible for configuring the selected forum's node permissions to prevent unauthorised members from viewing those threads.

Q: Can a suspended member submit multiple appeals?
A: No. Only one appeal is permitted per suspension. Once submitted, the member can return to their existing case rather than creating another appeal for the same restriction.

Q: How do staff review appeals?
A: Appeals are created as threads in the selected XenForo forum.

Authorised staff can read submissions, respond through normal thread replies and use the dedicated Approve Appeal or Deny Appeal actions.

No separate moderation dashboard is required.

Q: What happens when an appeal is approved?
A: Approving an appeal is designed to remove the corresponding XenForo account suspension and record the approved decision, restoring the member's normal account access.

Q: What happens when an appeal is denied?
A: The suspension remains active, the appeal is marked as denied and the case is closed to further replies.

The member can still view the recorded outcome through the dedicated appeal portal.

Q: Can suspended members communicate with staff while an appeal is being reviewed?
A: Yes. Members can read replies and respond through the appeal portal while their case remains open.

Staff communicate through the corresponding XenForo forum thread.

Q: Does the add-on support temporary and permanent suspensions?
A: Yes. Both types are supported, with the appropriate details and notices displayed automatically.

Temporary suspensions also display their scheduled expiry date.

Q: Does the add-on send suspension notifications?
A: Yes. Optional suspension email notifications can be enabled or disabled through the Admin Control Panel.

Q: Will it work with my custom XenForo style?
A: The suspension and appeal interfaces use XenForo style properties rather than fixed theme colours, allowing them to inherit the active forum style.

Q: Does the add-on require Node.js or external services?
A: No. It operates through XenForo's existing PHP, database and forum functionality.

Q: Is installation complicated?
A: No. The add-on installs through XenForo's standard add-on installer.

After installation, administrators can configure the suspension wording and optional appeal system under ACP > Setup > Options > Ban Page & Appeals.
