Okay all the said Moderators have common permissions, so I already have them clubbed in one group. I initially had their permissions set in Usergroup Permissions only. But I later noticed that even if I add them for specific forums only, they get moderating powers for all over the forum basically.

Now we come from Vbulletin where we used to have Moderators (limited to specific forums) and S-Moderators (who could Mod all sections). How do I go about doing this? Should I set Usergroup permissions as Inherent in Moderators usergroups and then add them individually to each forum section...

I've got 7 usergroups... why would it team them up with other usergroups I have no clue. They were certainly not teamed up in VB ...

Seriously ? I got like 185,000 members... I have to check all their usergroups one by one now?

okay this is weird it has made me a member of like 3 usergroups in my forum... I wonder how that happened.

I did do those... I have set it so that as an admin I can view that node.. but nothing it just does not even appear for me. I spent a good 2 hours or so setting the permissions up and they just do not seem to work. Even now I have no Moderating power for any threads on my board

I plan to take a full server backup before starting the import process, just to be on the safe hand. I'm assuming you are talking of taking a backup of the clean db of xen before the import?

Alright well most of my queries have been answered, so thanks for your help. Btw. to import avatars & attachments is it necessary for them to be in the database... as we store them in file system. Do they get imported easily? Couldn't find that in FAQ. Ah that's alright we only got like 10-20...
