Post rating mod does not contain likes for conversations. It just replaces likes for posts. If you keep conversation likes independent of the post likes then you do not need to worry about any conflicts. Sorry if I caused any confusion.

Hi David, if you finally embark upon implementing likes for conversations, please keep in mind that many people are using the Post Ratings add-on. Conversation likes should not conflict with these ratings.
