I upgraded today and it seems to be working fine.

I would love using this mod if all anonymous posts had to be moderated. Might get more postings from people that don't want to go to the trouble of registering, however moderation is mandatory or there will just be advertising spam or offensive posts. Anyway, great job so far on this!

I agree on the mod being broken, that why several of us went off topic to discuss using twitterfeed instead of the mod from the OP.

Have you tested and gotten it to tweet more than one post in the same topic? In my testing, other than first time topics it also tweets the first reply to an existing topic. Once it tweets for a topic it remembers the link and doesn't do it anymore.

It's a configuration in your server for security reasons. If you have access to your php.ini, change the following setting to On, I think that may be the problem. In a shared server you're probably out of luck. allow_url_fopen = On If you search Google there are some .htaccess commands...

I htaccess redirect to put the www. for consistency in search engines, but when I post the link I'll leave it off. A few years ago I tried to rid a website of ever using www. but it just kept popping back in there in various situations, so I decided it was easier not to fight it.

Nice outcome... this sounds plausible to me. Basically business owner hires web developer who hires SEO link builders who then spam forums, and the business owner likely doesn't even know. The link builders will keep spamming but this is one less customer, every little bit helps.

I don't think you can stop the ones doing the spamming for profit, but the website owner that paid the spammer for SEO results may stop that activity if they hear from an irate forum administrator that knows who they are. For me it's not righteousness but just trying to make a difference, if...
