I've been having the same issue - I need to get the header to match the navigation bar on my main site, which uses some <div>s and a <ul> and some CSS. I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually, but it's been surprisingly challenging - if you happen to find a solution, be sure to let me know.

I don't plan to release it publicly, but I'd like to start putting together a Xenforo style to match my main site. I have an existing header layout that I would like to keep, so it will be more than a simple color change. I'm sure it'll be easier to do once the CSS has been put into the style...

I had this problem too, and editing the values in the "Header and Navigation" preferences didn't seem to work. I had to edit the header.css template and find this: height: 35px; and remove it. I imagine that in future releases you probably won't need to do this.

For the past year or so I've been with nearlyfreespeech.net - it's been doing what I need, and it's nice to only pay for the bandwidth that you actually use. But since they don't let you enable php safe mode, I wouldn't be able to run Xenforo without switching. Does anyone have recommendations...
