It's not a good move to have many ads in places where Google can't check what's the content (and Google usually see what guests see, although there are ways you can give him access to hidden places). I was disabling ads in places invisible to guests.

I think you don't understand how this works. When there's no quick development of new features, you hear people who want quick development. When there is a quick development, then you hear people who want slow development. You always hear someone, not always the same people though.

Did you restored files and DB? If you have back up of them prior to upgrade, everything should work fine. And, probably some add on was causing issues after upgrade. It seems that it's best to disable all add ons, and then upgrade. Afterwards, just work on add on by add on, till you find what...
