Technically, the answer to "can you add X?" is always yes but each addition has a cost in either or both development and maintenance so is there an actual use case for Pastebin embeds? Did a user ask you about Pastebin? (in which case I'd be interested in examples of actual URLs they intend to use it for)

Yeah I actually have a few already in use on my site, I would like to have all of my current bbcodes developed here though, as all of my old ones are made by developers that stopped support and updates. :)

Using the xml generated here: http://s9e.github.io/XenForoMediaBBCodes/configure.html
Will not replace my current bbcode media sites?
And no extra ftp files to upload?
If you don't tick the bbcode media sites that you currently have then they won't be replaced. I use this configurator to ensure that I keep the default BBCode media sites (YouTube, Vimeo etc).

There are still files to upload as some of the bbcode media sites require these (though not all do).

I'm still unsure about the use case though. I'm looking for examples of people using Pastebin embeds. I have to weigh the benefits of supporting it against the cost of maintaining the extra definition.

Hi @JoshyPHP could you add support for both gorillavid.in and putlocker.com?
Sorry but those seem too much on the fringe to be worth supporting. I looked for actual URLs to gorillavid.in on reddit. The first I tried I got 4 popups and a pre-roll ad before accessing the player but even then I got an error that the video could not be found. Tried another link with the same result. As for putlocker, the life expectancy of file-sharing sites is on the decline and the same cost-benefit analysis makes me err on the side of not supporting it.

You still have to upload the file(s) from the archive to your site. The only difference is that instead of using the addon.xml from the archive to update the addon in XenForo's admin section, you use the one you generated at this URL.

This will not install on my website. I uploaded the files in the upload folder and tried to install using the addon.xml file included. I have tried through the browser upload and also from server install, and I get:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home2/xxxxxx/public_html/gforums/library/s9e/MediaBBCodes.php on line 63

Running xF 1.2.4

Your PHP version?

@Pygmalion2008 The reason RoldanLT asked your PHP version is because the addon requires PHP 5.3 or newer, and your error shows that you're probably running PHP 5.2 or older.

@Rho Delta As Martok said, use the configurator. Also, you should bookmark the URL of the page after you've selected the sites you want in your pack, it contains your selection, e.g. http://s9e.github.io/XenForoMediaBBCodes/configure.html#spotify,twitch

Download the addon.xml file and use it in your admin panel to upgrade the addon. You also need to update the PHP file.
