Anyone with a VERY large community using XenForo?

Today, the largest Macedonian forum migrated from vB4 to XenForo.

It has almost 4M posts and 35K members.
I'm not the owner, just posting this as one very large XF community.

More importantly, 1500 users online as I write this! I wonder what hardware they're running.

I'll have ours posted in this thread one day. Lots of "politics" to go through first. I think the staff and site owner will be OK, but some of the members are like cranky old women--change one thing and they get all whiney on us. Then they quit the forum. Permanently. And come back three weeks later. :D

We are converting our 1+ million Hearth.com forums to XF in a few weeks. We already tested the migration quite extensively.

Although we are not the busiest or biggest Big Board, we are one of the older and more trusted sites in the DIY realm, having been online since 1995 and having a forum since 1998.

An idea of our traffic - our traffic is 75% forums and on a busy day we get 125,000+ pageviews.

What makes you think he is converting within "a few weeks" to XF?
There's still a lot of work to do before we can even start *really* testing stuff. Probably not happening in "a few weeks".

That being said, I finished rewriting one of the larger parts that I needed to rewrite, so that's a nice thing to be done with...

That being said, I haven't even started the biggest thing I would need to rewrite... Digital Point Ads... http://advertising.digitalpoint.com/

Well I guess if Shawn is moving to XF in the near future.. then that is a huge step for XF and a huge loss for vB.

And, with many DP members seeing DP move to XF. I bet vB license sale prices drop dramatically and increase the price of a XF license by a huge factor.

So how many people have been bugging you to release your XF stuff?

Lol... I wouldn't go that far. :)
I would be surprised to hear though if vB/IB hasn't reach out to you about converting. Directly & indirectly you've been responsible for a considerable number of vB licenses being sold over the years.

I'm not *just* rewriting everything for XF... I built my own abstraction layer and then rebuilt my vB stuff for that first. Which means stuff I write should (mostly) work on any framework I want after I build the abstraction for that framework.

Of course that doesn't do UI stuff that might be specific to a platform... Just backend stuff.

That being said, my direct value to vB as a customer is minimal.... I have one license that I paid $130 for. The thing that made me really start looking seriously at other platforms was when they decided their official announcement of what's comig in vB4 wasn't actually that... It was nothing more than a personal opinion of an employee (after they couldn't deliver). And then made the policy that they can't talk about what is coming or what they are working on more than a couple weeks into the future. It's not possible to run anything more than a hobby site/forum under that scenario.

Wow that's really looking good!

Impressive to say the least! How many concurrent visitors do you get online at a time during peak hours? I see 1,165 online now.
I've been posting on IGN since 2001. That board is always busy but right now it's not as busy as it used to be due to the upgrade. It should pick up in a couple of months.
