as long as you link your wiki pages by assigning them to a parent, it will be automatically linked. Take a look at your "Page List" in Wiki. If your page has a parent, it will show indented underneath it's parent. When you select the parent, you will see the children underneath it.

No what I mean is if I create a new page, that page won't be linked to automatically unless it appears I go back to edit the previous pages and save them without making any changes.

I'm not talking about the links at the top of the pages i'm talking about the links in the content.

Anyone have suggestions on how make the wiki look better... Like it looks really ugly haha :)

It seems you have every page as a child of "Wiki Index", there is no reason for this.

Jaxel, where do you put the images, under what folder? I'm trying to do something like the char big template you have.

Code:
<td style="padding: 0px">
<div class="primaryContent" style="padding: 6px 3px 3px;"><a href="http://xen1.8wayrun.com/wiki/{{{slug}}}/"><img src="soulcalibur/{{{slug}}}.jpg" alt="{{{name}}}" /></a></div>
<div class="secondaryContent" style="padding: 3px;">{{{name}}}</div>
</td>

Jaxel shared his code in the above post. His path is
img src="soulcalibur/{{{slug}}}.jpg

it was all hard coded. Later I will look for a dynamic solution but my goal for now is to just get up and going. If you want to look at my code you are welcome to it, just shoot me a PM

I have a question -
For my website, that I hope to move to Xenforo in the future, I plan on using this Wiki to incorporate tutorials and information since my website is based around Xbox modifications and such.
I'm wondering if there's a way to have a thread linked(Or even generated when a Wiki page is made) such that all discussion(like the discussion tab on Wikis) could take place there? Or maybe integrate a discussion tab and have a thread show up there?
That's just a general idea about a possible implication(unless already implemented/on the list).

Also, how about 'liking' a specific wiki page?

Agree about the liking.... should be part of a wiki page, as with report, so users can like or report any abuse that occurs to a page to notify moderators.

Like the option on creating a linked thread for the discussion of the page. Would be an awesome addition.

The wiki features haven't really evolved at all from when I first donated to this... and would love to see more features added to improve this product... then I would add more to donating for it.

Is it likely you will have more than one editor ?
The main reason for a wiki or more of a tutorials/articles area is that wiki articles can easily link to each other and that editing is shared amongst many editors.

This can be done manually.
As well, you can embed an entire wiki item inside a post.
So in this method you'd probably make a wiki entry, make a new thread, post the entire wiki item in the first post and discussion can ensue from there.
Or maybe integrate a discussion tab and have a thread show up there?
A discussion tab vs. just having comments below tends to discourage discussion (ie. wikipedia). The benefit of a good wiki which works well with a forum is you can use xenforo's excellent posting functions as a comment engine for the wiki item. The main drawback of having wiki items and comments "all the way over" in the wiki area is they are separated from the main action in the forums. This is a huge drawback. You want users to know that new wiki items have been made (without having to go there) and you want wiki comments to show up as "New Posts" as well. I have suggested somewhere where new wiki items and comments could show up as "New" items, but actually just redirect you to the wiki area. Technically the wiki item would not actually be in the forum posts area, but that a placeholder would be there that just redirects people to the wiki item they clicked on.

Also, how about 'liking' a specific wiki page?
Excellent idea.
Watch too !

Xbox modification How Tos and resource lists are VERY much suited for a wiki.
Mostly because they are things which need to be kept up to date and therefore having a go to place to update will yield excellent google ranking. If your site is the first to update a certain Modification that people are searching for ... Google will reward you in a big way. Wikis provide a predictable content structure that over time outperforms forum threads and posts.

Good luck on your site. You also shouldn't call the wiki a wiki. It's so non-sexy. Since the wiki will be THEE information repository on your site ... either give it a cool name or call it a manual. I dont know the xbox mod scene ... so I dont know a cool name. Ideally, people will remember the name of your manual and will both refer others to it and google the name. Once you get to that level of recognition google will throw users your way. You should very much consider making wiki entries vs forum posts ... but I wouldnt launch a wiki unless it was integrated in the "New Posts" search of the forums.

Thanks for your response.

That's actually the exact reason as to why I want to use the wiki as apart of the website. It's something the bigger sites haven't done - Everyone is still on the front page article phase, I'm trying to pass that.
My site already gets a considerable amount of traffic, considering the competition for the most part outshines us, and everyone else.

The reason why I brought up the idea of linking forum posts to the wiki is that, yeah my site is mostly a resource repository, but it's also heavily discussion based. With the wiki I want to eradicate useless 'help' posts - Having the community be able to edit the pages and add information would help reinforce this. In the long run, it may not matter too much, like you said a thread could just be made manually if discussion is needed. But I totally agree on having the option for wiki pages to show up in New Posts - especially if they've recently been edited.

Having the ability to 'watch' a wiki page wouldn't just benefit my site, but everyone's who may want to use this - I hope the developer takes this into serious consideration.

As for naming the wiki, I already have a name in mind. :)

I am not clear what you mean. Can you post a screenshot?
I figured out the issue. The problem is the title of the new Wiki page.
If it is above a certain character count (Such as a Title like this), it will screw up the "Wiki Index" and "Wiki Navigation" links that are shown in the sidebar.

While I've fixed the issue, I think that auto shortening of the title (or at least a friendly warning) should be added.

It would be nice if we can toggle of the sub-pages to appear on top of the parent page or not. The reason why I like to have a sub-page is because it makes it easy to navigate with the breadcrumb when you have a parent-page and sub-pages as opposed to have the sub-page without the parent page.

Maybe have something build in that would detect if a parent page has a custom template it would hide the auto sub-page list? Or have something like the [ nosidebar ] function for that?

This is exactly what I mean. This product has been skimmed for development and improvement purposes, and time placed in things like xenmedia... this product has some basic functionality like this that is missing, and limiting people from using this. This product has so much potential... and I hope Jason puts more focus into enhancing this product sooner, rather than later, so it grows as well.

Nothing worse than having a sub-page that shows up at the top of the page, and the only way to stop it, is to remove the php and affect all pages vs. an option to turn on / off specific aspects on a per page basis when its created. Some pages need the sub-pages listed, some don't.

Options, options, options, along with some XF standard features.... is what this product needs.

Awesome Jaxel! Can't wait, and I'm anxious to see the attachment handler in the system. These two things is going to make this product so much better. I've been tight with money and therefor have not been able to donate yet, but will as soon as I get some extra cash ;)

Nice work Jason... I will send over another $50 once you get this next release out... after testing it. This is what this has so much needed... options and functionality.

I'll send you $100.
I have an old version installed but haven't made any page yet. The new version with attachment looks promising.
