XF 2.1 "You have posted 1 message(s) in this thread"

I have had a few reports of members seeing their mini avatar overlaid on a thread starter's avatar at the side of a thread title which basically highlights that they have posted to that thread.
When moused over, the message "You have posted 1 message(s) in this thread" shows, however they have not posted nor had posts deleted in that thread.

When checking the member's post history it does not show any post being made to that thread either.
One of the members reporting such behaviour is an admin so knows his way around the forum, so not user error.

So far InternetExplorer 11 and Google Chrome browsers have shown this, however I cannot replicate it and it doesn't appear to happen to the majority of members, unless it's just not being reported.
It doesn't happen to every thread either, just on random threads.

Thanks Brogan, that appears to have resolved the issue.

Is it advisory to run the Rebuild caches on a regular basis, or just when issues occur?

It shouldn't ever be required really, unless you encounter an issue such as this.

If it happens again, then it may be worth checking whether any third party add-ons are involved.
